Signatures from former and reserve Self-Defense Forces personnel calling for the use of the Self-Defense Forces in the rescue of abduction victims

The Constitution clearly states that "sovereignty resides in the people," and we believe that the North Korean government's actions against the people constitute a direct use of force against sovereignty and the people, and that the use of force within our territory constitutes aggression.
Despite these facts being internationally acknowledged, the Self-Defense Forces have never been used to rescue abduction victims. The Self-Defense Forces have a wide range of capabilities, from intelligence gathering to the protection and transportation of Japanese citizens, and if the abduction issue is a top priority for national policy, then utilizing the Self-Defense Forces is only natural. We demand a decisive action from the government and the prompt establishment of relevant legislation.
