Special Investigation Committee Meeting, 17th Session: Accompanying

I accompanied the Tokyo Toshima and Saitama Kawaguchi Local Investigation Association on their 10,000-kilometer field investigation.

(1) Through on-site investigations, we will deepen our understanding of individual incidents and North Korea's abduction and espionage activities.
(2) To deter future espionage activities through public awareness campaigns.

(3) Record messages from families of specific missing persons on-site for the shortwave radio broadcast "Shiokaze" directed to North Korea.

We reaffirm our recognition of the need for active participation from our organization in relation to the objectives of the investigation committee, particularly (1) and (2).

Activity Log ■Due to various circumstances, participation was from Miel Kawaguchi at 1400.

The explanation began in front of Miel Kawaguchi, led by Kazuhiro Araki, the representative of the research committee and also the representative of our organization. I walked from Kawaguchi Station to Miel Kawaguchi, and the townscape was new, with many apartment buildings lining the streets.

We arrived at the final location where Akira Araki disappeared (the site of his former home), but a large building now stands there, completely obscuring any trace of what it once was. Apparently, there used to be many metalworking factories in the area, but they are all gone now, and the sites have been replaced by apartment buildings.

Although it is a quiet residential area, many Koreans live there, and it seems that an organization that abducts Japanese citizens is lurking behind it. The true nature of this organization has not been revealed, and it is entirely possible that they will abduct Japanese citizens again.

Shigeo Iizuka, representative of the family association. He is the brother of Yaeko Taguchi, the subject of the investigation that day. When you talk to various people while moving around, you can hear many things that don't come out on the surface.

Takashi Fujita (Susumu Fujita's younger brother) gave his explanation near his home.

Kawaguchi City Maekawa Community Center, Japanese-style room. A report on the entire field investigation, the status of the UN Human Rights Committee's response regarding Mr. Susumu Fujita, and other reports were presented.
